|
|
Hi
I thought I might add some more to the chit chat topics on here and chit chat about birds - I don't really have anyone else to chit chat to, who likes talking about birds and nothing else <<lol>> so here's my 2 cents .....
Have you ever thought about (or actually did it) re-naming your bird(s)? Me, ...well, I'd lie if I said it doesn't cross my mind every now and then but I'd never do it, after all ..the birds are already used to their names and all.
I'm not going to rename Pinchy now but if I ever get another Green Cheek Conure..I am definatelly calling him/her ....RHUBARB. ...Oh Doh...
My Hunter and Casey have been renamed ....but this happened after the first 2 days only, of getting them.....so they hadn't really got used to any name at that time..............they were originally called Mulder and Scully. |

Well Pete has never been renamed.
Benny didn't know his name before so we changed it.
Jimmy was Roger but never said his name so we changed it and he still never says Jimmy but knows his name when we say it.
Rosy never had a name before coming here so I guess the only name she has ever known is Rosy.
Robby didn't have a name for the first 5 years of his life either and he now loves to say "Robby".
Now poor Billy did have a name and I wanted to keep it because he knows his name as Kiwi but hubby insisted so he won.
Billy still says Hi Kiwi but when he plays peek a boo..it's peek-a-boo Billy.
So I call him Billy Kiwi. _________________ Quality bird toys and more

To tell the truth, I've never changed any of my birds names. Even Poppy the tiel & Jennie the senny, who came to me at a young age & weren't actually named, but the breeders had been calling them by those names & I liked them both, so kept them.
Kewi my Amazon is the only one I would kind of like to change, only becuz it's just such a common name for birds, but she says "Hi Kewi!" so cute that I just can't do it. _________________ Cathy |

LOVELLY BIRD!!!! Thanks for that!
I know it's probably a stupid question but do the amazons live in Jamaica in the wild, are they a common bird to see (in the wild)?? Could you have a wild J. Amzon land in your yard??? That would be cool! Hey! |

Kat... your Question is not a stupid one...its a good one.......anyway their are 2 endemic species of amazom parrots that are only found in jamaica and other place but here the frist one his the The Jamaican yellow billed amazon parrot the other one is the
JAMAICAN BLACK BILLED PARROT
also we have a jamaican conure which is call
JAMAICAN OLIVE THROAT CONURE
they are also call the JAMAICAN PARRAKEET
most of this bird can be seen in the wild out here depending on which part of the island we live..............where I live i get to see a lot of the jamaican parrakeets they feed neer my home and sometime we see small flock flying over my home every day _________________
