Hi all
I know that I shouldn't be giving my GC Conure milk but he's always so eagerly awaiting his little drink of milk from my cereal bowl, every morning. Should I stop this or will he be ok with such a small amout. He only takes a few "beak-fulls" and then he leaves.
Thanks all for any advice you may have!

Birds don't have the enzymes in their GI tract to digest lactose. So really No they shouldn't have it. But, dairy in really small doses shouldn't be a problem. Just don't over do it.

I don't know why he likes it that much - it's wierd. But yeah, I wasn't sure if I was doing the wrong thing...I think I might cut down on some days and have toast instead ;o)
Cheers for that Janseenie

I probably wouldn't let him have it daily, but maybe a little bit as a special treat once in awhile.
That's funny he likes it so much Razz
When Manu hurt his beak a long time ago, I didn't realize birds shouldn't have milk, & since his beak was sore & he wouldn't eat I ended up giving him bread soaked in warm milk & he ate it really good until the vet told me to use warm water instead of milk.
